What we hear very often from parents coming to us for the first time is, "Oh, how I wish I had studied at a school like that!" Or, "Why didn't we know earlier about you?"

Our goal, on the one hand, is to meet the needs of parents looking for the most suitable school for their children, by enriching the palette of possibilities in the city. On the other hand, we strive to satisfy our personal need to share with the widest possible circle of people our experience in creating a different, inspiring and happy school.

PHS "Democratic Education Varna" is innovative and the only one of its kind in Bulgaria - it has no analogues either among public or private schools. We combine the concept of the democratic educational model with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science.

The school community functions on the principle of cooperation and meeting the needs of all (children, parents, teachers), as opposed to systems that function solely through dominance and control.

This community was born 6 years ago as an initiative of a group of parents united by common values.

What did we want for our children?

- To be active creators of their lives and environment, not just people reacting to circumstances

- To be sensitive to the needs of others and also to their own

- Not to stop because of fear of failure

What did we want for ourselves as parents?

- To be able to influence what happens in the school specifically with our children - including choice of curriculum, degree of freedom, free time, extra activities...

- Our children to receive individual attention and an approach tailored to their needs

-To trust the school team

-То not write homework with them during the entire weekend

- To see them blossom

-То be calm and happy

 

The school is currently successfully realizing this vision and growing rapidly. We have two educational buildings, in the midst of a magnificent forest, away from the city noise, close to the sea. The school team consists of 21 people, of which 13 are teachers. The youngest children in the school are 5 years old. In the upcoming school year, we enroll students in the first and second high school years (8th and 9th grade) in a class with intensive study of foreign languages ​​- English and French or Spanish.
